The whole island is full of places suitable for surfing, some spots are better known than others. We encourage you to discover its hidden corners with propitious winds and dream waves.

Today we give you these 5 useful tips
1-Do not enter the water immediately if you have never surfed
Practice first on the floor. Face down on the table do rowing movements with both arms. Then place your hands under your chest and in a rapid movement, push your body up with your arms and lift your feet by placing them one behind the other. Start practicing with smaller waves until you master the movements better on the board and balance.
2- Rent a soft surfboard
A good option for beginners is to rent a soft surfboard, also called Soft Tops or Foam Boards. They are lightweight, durable and much cheaper than fiberglass or Epoxy boards.
3- Stability and balance
Shrinking and maintaining balance is important for a better landing. The table should be braked with the weight on the back foot so that the landing is smooth and at the right time so that you do not lose speed when continuing in the wave.
4- Do not forget the wax
Take with you wax for your surfboard, make sure that it is appropriate for the temperature of the water in which you surf. When applied in the table improves foot grip and balance. It is also necessary to use a strap to avoid losing the board in case of fall. Tie it to your back foot and to the end of the board.
5- Surfaced peaks in Fuerteventura
If you are already advanced the north Fuerteventura you will find waves that break on reefs of rock and reach a good size if the suitable conditions are given. There are several surfaced peaks for advanced in this part of the island, the main ones are: Isla de Lobos, Mejillón, Rocky Point or Punta Elena, Generoso and El Muelle de Corralejo.
Bring the right gear and learn the basics of surfing before you leave. Respect the right of way. Remember that when there is more than one surfer waiting for the same wave, the one closest to the ridge has the right of way.
Another important fact is that in Fuerteventura the wind can be quite strong. When this happens it does not mean that we will stop surfing, but we will only have to go to the opposite point of the island, surely there we will find better conditions to continue practicing our favorite sport.
