Travel in times of pandemic
If you plan to travel for Christmas remember that each city or autonomous community puts its own restrictions regarding the night time allowed for mobility, to carry out the festivities between December 23, 2020 and January 6, 2021.
The trips will only be considered if the destination is the habitual residence of relatives, so if you plan to visit your family on these dates, you will be able to travel within the European Union.
Cold only outside
Keeping the heat inside the motorhome is the objective, therefore it should be tried to eliminate cold air inlets, check the weatherstripping on the door, windows and skylights. Placing a dehumidifier will avoid excess humidity.
You can get some thick fabric curtains that will better isolate the cold from the windows. A warm rug is an excellent option that will isolate the cold from the floor, to keep your feet warm and in turn will make the space more welcoming.

Avoid problems and extra expenses
Regular ventilation will help prevent mold from forming on the floors and walls. To prevent freezing and breakage of water pipes, run hot water for a few minutes.
Be very careful with gas hobs in such a small and closed space, as they can release carbon monoxide. If you have no alternative and you must use a hob with a gas hob, make sure that the environment is well ventilated and that the connections are in excellent condition, without gas losses.
Propane gas works better than butane, it can generate more pressure in bad winter conditions, therefore it will keep the motorhome heated, making the interior temperature comfortable to withstand the winter.
Keep the motorhome always ready
Before traveling, the vehicle should be checked to verify that it is in perfect operating condition. Prepare it to be protected from frost damage.
Plan the trip and take with you all the tools, spare parts and accessories you may need. And remember, don’t leave the parking brake on as it could get stuck.
